The mangroves are found in the areas with a low-oxygen soil, where slow-moving waters allow fine sediments to accumulate. They act as a stabilizer on the coastline, first shield of human from big waves, storm surges, currents, and tides. Their roots attract the fish and other organisms in terms of food and shelter from the predictor. Now here in Panabo City, they represent the Mangrove Forest Boardwalk is located in Purok Cogon, Barangay JP Laurel. It's a 585 meter concrete boardwalk amidst the 94.13 hectare of mangrove forest. From Region XI, it is the second largest mangrove forest. In the Philippines, there are at least 40 species and 17 of those can be found in this forest.

How to get there in Mangrove Forest Boardwalk
By just riding on a tricycle (start in Barangay Lasang Davao City), and fare of 20 pesos per head (since we're in 2 person spent 40 pesos) you will arrive in your destination. It isn't expensive because the entrance was free before (not sure if they will have now the entrance fee since the environment is under improving).
The place is full of mangroves and you can smell the fresh air because of it. Since the boardwalk is made of concrete, there is no hassle in walking the aisle-like to its peak where a shed was built. As you walk from the boardwalk, you are surrounded by a different species of mangroves and their names or scientific names were tagged on them. The place is good for taking pictures and for events (example prenup, debut and etc.) or making a videos. The peace of place with a bird's chirping helps you to meditate and relax from the noise of the city. A shed was built wherein you can sit and relax. I made on time people (fishermen) working to catch a different sea foods such as clams, fish, and crabs, they have also kids working to catch clams and sell them to those who wants to buy it.
